Anne O'Connor

Solo Exhibition

Anne's statement about herself: "I am a conceptual and photography artist with strong connections to Launceston and to Denison on the East Coast of Tasmania.  Both are places I explore, walking the land, choosing new paths - looking for inspiration and change... My images are mostly ephemeral, but always relate to Place, Nature or Lifestyle."

Walking inspires Anne - she looks for the unseen, the irregular, the things people tend to not notice.  She is essentially an artist behind a camera lens, but her love of texture and design feed something very special into her photographic pieces.  She is constantly experimenting with ways to express her unique insight into what is around her... and so you will find wonderful stitchery, creating a super-text to the original image... or unexpected folding and twisting of the medium she is using to present a quirky way of looking at the world... Anne's artwork is delicate, sensitive and extraordinarily insightful... It arrests the viewer at every turn.  It says look what I have found!  'Did you ever thing of it this way??'
