Artist Statement
Artist’s Statement : “Whether physically or metaphorically conceived, horizons represent the intersection between human-centred awareness and an infinite realm beyon This is true of landscape where the meetings of earth and sky, or even land and water, open beyond that perceived margin to vaster territories inviting exploration. It also applies, whether we are surveying macro or micro vistas. It is not merely about evident margins, but also about seeing through surface layers to what is beneath or beyond. A horizon threshold is simply a flexible mode of delimitin spaces of perception or understanding. The paradox is that there is always more - one horizon opens to another, seemingly without limit. In the end is the beginning. In terms of style and approach, my paintings tend to teeter between realism and abstraction - another horizon, of sorts, and one that will hopefully continue to keep me artistically innovative and curious.” Garry R.
